Agora iniciarei uma nova sequência de aulas no blog, que serão voltadas para comunicação e contexto. Então todas as postagens não terão enfoque gramatical, mas sim contextual.
Aprenderemos varias formas de cumprimentar, falar de sí mesmo, inciar e fechar conversas, bares, restaurantes, aeroportos, expressar opinião, concordar e descordar entre muitos outros.
Essas aulas trarão principalmente vocabulário e como usa-lo, os níveis de formalidade e aceitação dos mesmos.

Coming Back

Really long time no seeing each other.
After X-Mas ans New years and a lot of work in the begining of the year, I´m coming back to the video classes and the blog.

The news is that I finally stated my Post-graduation in Applied Linguistics.

Hi guys
After 4 weeks away I´m back and I have some news for you. My trip was a training that I took for my school, and I was approved and now I am the coordinator at the school I work.
During this time I was contacted by a post-graduated student who wants to inclued my blog in a research she´s making on how the internet can be used as a tool to help learners. I was so glad that she wants my blog.
The other is not so good, when I arrived from my trip my computer broke and I´ve been going thru some problems with it. I´m recording the videos but I don´t have a computer to make the transfer to upload them. The computer I´m using at the moment is a old one for emergency situations. But I´m still on my e-mail to anwser any questions you may have.

Modal Verbs - Must and Have to

This is the last class about Modal Verbs and I´m closing them with Must and Have to.
In this video I explain their context and give some examples and their differences, since we can´t use Must and Have to in the same context for everything.

Now that the Modal Classes are over there is one thing you have to remember. Study modals isolated is easy, but when you have them all together can be complicated. So the best thing you can do is: Pay Attettion to the context; analyze all the sentences before and after the modal verb to see if you anwser is correct.

Problem Verbs - Say x Tell

Again here with no videos. This topics of Problem verbs I think it would be better like this.
So, moving on with the Problem Verbs, today we have Say x Tell

To Tell/Told
Well, first of all to tell is used to give information and instructions
Ex: He told me what time it is
I told my name to the manager

And also it´s required an pronoun or the name of the person.
Ex: She told me what happened to our friends
My mother is telling Bob to clean his bedroom

To Say/ Said
The verb to say you point out to whom the message is been said after to:
Ex: My friend said to me he´s going home
What did you say to them?

Also when there is no to whom is been talked:
Ex: He said something funny last week
"I was here before", he said
It´s used to signs and labels:
Look at the sign, it says "restrict area"

to Say/ to Tell + that:
After those verbs the used of that is yours guys. If you prefer you can use, if not just omit it.

I´m going to start some classes without video trying to explain some problem verbs that are commom problems for many students. Today I´m explaining the difference between DO and MAKE.

Bom dia a todos
Estou começando hoje uma pequena série de aulas sem video para explicar alguns verbos problemas que são duvidas comuns para muitos alunos.

DO
As a whole DO is used to indicate an activity performance, which include work.
Ex:
Do your best
do business with someone
do nothing
do a favor
do a good job
do the shopping
do the dishes
do the laundry

MAKE
As a whole MAKE is used to indicate an activity in the sense of creation and production
Ex:
Make a choice
make a date
make an excuse
make progress
make a suggestion
make noise
make money
make a decision
make lunch/ dinner
make plans
make a phone call

DO can be used to replace verbs mentioned before in the sentence or dialogue.
- Hey, you broke my toy
- No, I didn´t do it (do = break)

DO also can be used to replace more specific verbs
- He is doing 110km/h on the road (doing = driving)
- I did latim when I was in college (did = studied)
